Chicago Public Library Summer Learning Challenge

Grades PreK-8, online and in-person educational programming around the theme: Building Stories, architecture and design.

Teens - You Media

The Teen Summer Program is due to launch on July 6th. Our program this year is largely virtual in addition to providing "take and make" resources in our branches for teens to use. We won't have in-person programs due to social distancing measures that are in place at our libraries.

The Sound Off postcard provides you a view of our theme and the Pick 4 playing card. Of course there will be prizes! When our program launches, we will have information available at chipublib.org/soundoff where we will also be promoting our collections and highlighting weekly virtual content.

We have already launched a weekly gaming opportunity for teens that we would love to have your help promoting. The postcards and document provide items that you can forward, attach or post on social media per your preference.

PebbleGo Health and Salud are now live within your PebbleGo! These two new modules (English and Spanish versions) provide over 150 articles in each module that span a variety of important areas specifically curated for young students. Topics include general health, safety and social emotional concepts. Here are just a few examples of the content available within the Health/Salud module (category > article):

·         Feelings and Emotions > I Feel Worried

·         Health Care Visits > Getting a Checkup

·         Healthy Habits > Setting Goals

·         My World and My Health > Technology and My Health

·         Nutrition > Healthy Snacks

·         Relationships and Friendships > Acceptance

·         Safety > Water Safety

·         Self-Awareness > Self-Worth
