Each month, we'll be using this newsletter to share resources to support your child's learning, exciting district news, and events happening in school communities across our city.

3 Steps for a Successful School Year 

It's important that your child has a device, access to the internet to stay connected to their classroom, and uses their CPS login each day to help track their attendance and complete their homework.

Healthy Habits

This year, teachers will learn alongside their students. Follow Ms. Petrizzo, Ms. Griffin, and Mr. Spangler throughout the 2020-21 school year as they rediscover the reasons they love their work in a digital setting.

Our 2019-20 Academic Report Card highlights record-high progress in graduation rates, postsecondary credits earned and over $1 billion in awarded scholarships for five consecutive years, and COVID-19 response.

 

Forty-three CPS schools participated in our Summer Reading Initiative, which encourages abundant reading of culturally-relevant texts at home.

Between September 15 and October 15, we join our Latino and Latina students, families, and staff in celebrating Latinx culture and history in our Chicago communities. Read more about celebrations across the district here and check our blog for updates.

FAFSA Opens October 1
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens tomorrow for high school seniors planning on attending a college or university next fall. More on the FAFSA and other postsecondary financial aid opportunities can be found on our blog.
