A Safe Return to School: Virtual Parent Town Hall with Mayor Lightfoot and Drs. Jackson and Arwady

Dear Parents and Families,

We’re excited to start welcoming back students to school. These past ten months have been difficult for all of us, but especially for students, parents, and families. In order to help  you transition back to school smoothly, Mayor Lightfoot, CDPH Commissioner Dr. Arwady and I will be hosting a virtual town hall to answer some of the most frequently asked questions that we have heard from you about return to in-person learning. We’ll talk about what we’re doing to keep our school communities safe, school readiness, vaccinations, and more.

Please join us tomorrow, Wednesday, 2/10, beginning at 6 p.m. at chicago.gov/live. If you have any questions you'd like to ask, please send them our way at through this form. As we head into the new year, we are going to create additional opportunities for families to engage and inform the district’s planning.

The video will be available for families to watch after the livestream concludes. We hope you can join us.

Sincerely,

Janice K. Jackson, EdD
