My name is Ken Graves. I have been a teacher and coach at Volta School for my whole 32-year career. I have been here so long that I am now teaching the kids of students I taught many years ago, and that makes me extremely happy and proud. I will be retiring soon (either at the end of this school year or the next one), but while I am still here, I will continue to always be the teacher that makes school, learning, and playing sports and games a fun and memorable experience for every kid that comes my way.
Beyond my life as a teacher, my greatest source of happiness and pride is my daughter, Kylee, who just started college at Elmhurst University. And my son, Kenny, who is in fifth grade at Oriole Park School. They are the greatest gifts in my life. Outside of my kids, the number one passion in my life are the Chicago White Sox. No matter what, they will always be my team.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who I have ever taught, worked with, and been close to at Volta. This North Side school has been like a second home to this lifelong South Side guy for parts of four decades. And whatever I do, or wherever I go, Volta will always have a special place in my heart.
