Welcome Back To School

August 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Sadiqua Ahmad and I love teaching and helping students. This year, I am teaching language arts and math for 4th and 5th grade diverse learners. I have been teaching at Volta School for 28 years, in which I taught students with diverse needs for more than 20 years. During all these years, I worked with students in both mono and bilingual settings. I have a master’s degree in special education. I also have an elementary teacher’s certification along with bilingual and English as a Second Language endorsements/approvals.

As a teacher, I want to ensure that our students will continue to have the maximum support from the classroom teachers and myself. We will plan to deliver instruction through a learning environment and will work together to support our students in improving their academic work and in meeting their IEP goals and benchmarks.

I believe that reading is fun because every book is a new adventure. Reading is also as you gain knowledge when you read. I request you all to encourage your child/children to read a lot of books. I also believe that learning math is fun too. In order to enhance math skills, please engage your children in home activities with a variety of mathematical skills. You can talk about math ideas at meal times, on outdoor walks, or by playing educational math games and puzzles.

I believe that both parents and teachers play a very important role in helping children learn better. I hope to work with you all in making this school year to be more enjoyable, and effective. Together we can help them become successful in achieving their goals. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Mrs. Sadiqua Ahmad
